Greeting

Bowing is a formal way of greeting in Japan. There are three kinds of bowing in Japan. The bow is done by bending approximately 15 degrees to strangers or to thank someone. 30 degrees bowing is to show apologies, while extreme respect requires bending to around 45 degrees. Japaneses businessmen may greet Westerns using handshake method.
